![]() Profile :: NATALIE GARCIA DE HEER Unya National Policy Platforms Natalie Garcia de Heer began her involvement with the United Nations Youth Association of Western Australia in 2002 when she attended State Conference and the Hammarskjold Trophy Competition. She was then selected to attend UNYA’s National Youth Conference in Brisbane in July 2002 and the inaugural Evatt Trophy National Security Council competition in Canberra that year which her team won. Since then Natalie has been heavily involved in the organisational side of UNYA being a member of the national conference organising committee in 2002/2003 and the Regional Officer for UNYA WA in 2003/2004. Natalie is passionate about the issues of UNYA Human Rights and Cultural Diversity policy and wants to contribute to her local or global community so that it may benefit in some way from her existence. To clarify the “Garcia” in Natalie’s name is from her father’s name and is Spanish and the de Heer is her Mother’s and is Dutch, both of Natalie’s parents emigrated to Australia when they were teenagers.![]() The Commission on Human Rights in session.
